Item was acquired at an estate in Iowa City, Iowa. I cannot confirm the age, origin, or use of this piece. It may be a replica.
The end was cut off, with what looks like a piece of wood was placed to the inside. It is not a perfect fit, and will fall out. The opposite end has a wood covering placed by nails.
The carved designs could be a branding of some sort. The horn is aged and rough in areas. It measures approx 16.75 inches long x 3 x 3.5 on the larger end. At the very widest, with the horn lying flat it is approx 10 inches wide.
